Issues with Verse Format / posting poetry

Hello, I wish to adapt my blog to contain less essays and more poetry.

I used the verse format in WordPress, which looks fine on the page. When I post them, the images on the home page look fine, but the words all bunch together and look like the text has been written by aliens 👽.

I have hundreds of poems I wish to post & now I don’t know how to get past this issue ?

Open to ideas 💡, that are simple. Thank you in advance for any help.

I did recently switch the hosting over to GoDaddy & a lot of the hierarchy got messed up, so trying to fix that also.
